Celebrating 25 years of dedication: Susan & Chris at Bassetts Pole, Harvester
In a world where career longevity is becoming a rare feat, Susan and Chris celebrate a remarkable milestone: 25 years as General Managers at Bassetts Pole, Harvester.
Susan and Chris first joined Bassetts Pole back in 1999, stepping into their General Manager roles with plenty of energy and excitement.
Over the years, they’ve seen the business grow and evolve, but their dedication to nurturing their team and creating a warm, welcoming environment has stayed the same.
They’ve really helped shape the success of Bassetts Pole by building strong connections with both their team and guests.
Teamwork and growth
One of the things that sets Susan and Chris apart is their focus on teamwork. They’ve always been big believers in listening to their team, encouraging feedback, and working together to improve how things run.
This open, collaborative approach has created a culture where everyone feels respected, and both staff and customers benefit from it. It’s this kind of leadership that keeps things moving forward at Bassetts Pole.
Balancing family and work
What makes their story even more amazing is how they’ve managed to balance running a busy restaurant with raising their three boys - Joseph and twins Oliver & Harry.
The boys have practically grown up in the business and now work at Bassetts Pole in their spare time, juggling their studies with shifts at the restaurant. It’s become a real family affair, adding to the already close-knit feel of the place.
Celebrating 25 years with a summer party
To celebrate their 25-year milestone, Susan and Chris threw a big summer garden party.
Friends, family, colleagues, and even long-time regulars were there to join in the fun.
The day was all about sharing memories and celebrating the connections they’ve built with their guests over the years. It was the perfect way to mark such a huge achievement.
Looking forward to the future at Bassetts Pole, Harvester
As they look back on their time at Bassetts Pole, Susan and Chris are filled with pride but also excitement for what’s next.
They credit a lot of their success to the support they’ve received from Mitchells & Butlers and the strong relationships they’ve built over the years.
They’re both excited about continuing to grow the business and taking on new challenges in the future.
Susan’s growth with M&B’s Apprenticeship
Recently, Susan took her personal development to the next level by completing a higher apprenticeship through M&B’s apprenticeship schemes. The course helped her pick up new management skills, fine-tune her leadership style, and push the performance at Bassetts Pole even further. It’s clear her passion for the business is as strong as ever, and she’s always looking for ways to improve.
A lasting legacy at Bassetts Pole, Harvester
