Top Tips
Let your personality shine
Hospitality is a people-first industry, so let your energy and personality shine. Greet confidently and keep your tone friendly and positive. Employers notice genuine enthusiasm, be yourself and show your passion.
Show you embrace change and challenge
High-volume settings move fast, so embrace change, variety, and teamwork. Show you're open to different shifts, tasks, and learning new systems or service styles. A positive, can-do attitude often matters more than experience so lean into growth.
Prepare great examples for your interview
Be ready with two or three stories that highlight how you've supported guests, solved problems, or gone the extra mile. Use clear examples to show patience, teamwork, and initiative, even from non-hospitality roles. Specific wins help employers picture you delivering the same standard for their guests.
